Creating a vision of change will help you to become a more effective leader during stressful times. Make certain that you are considering all of the options and communicating your vision to others while allowing for some of the decisions to be made through team consensus, which will increase the amount of “Buy In”.  Take the following action steps as guides through your change initiatives.

Creating a vision of change will help you to become a more effective leader during stressful times. Make certain that you are considering all of the options and communicating your vision to others while allowing for some of the decisions to be made through team consensus, which will increase the amount of “Buy In”.  Take the following action steps as guides through your change initiatives.

1.       Challenge yourself to look at your situation through a different lens.  Don’t allow the prevailing wisdom or others’ framing to determine the solutions you are able to foster. 

2.       Focus on communicating your compelling aspiration to others. What can you do today to convey your vision?  There can be many layers of adversity to change in an organization, so focus on what you can do on various fronts. 

3.       Use a working team to foster change, by actively working with the team; give your managers direction with a broad written plan.  Follow up to see the direction in which they were able to take it.
