    This is an activity for managers and others working in groups to examine the commitment given to commonly used promises, and how they feel about them. The results of the activity should will be a greater understanding of the impact of promises and the personal impact of not keeping them.

    Optimal middle managers are aware and involved in the strategic goals of their organization.

    Middle Managers have long been the brunt of jokes, and are typically portrayed in Hollywood as boring, uninformed, and completely without influence.  It is a stereotype that couldn’t be more unfounded. Middle management moves organizations. In a world where executives and front-line workers see themselves as opponents, it is the managers who are connected to both worlds that become the cogs that keep the wheels whirring.

    Give the most troubling tasks of a job a personal identification. Make yourself part of analogy and look at the trouble tasks from the inside out. This will give you a greater understanding of what the root cause is of the discomfort associated with the task, it can also help lead to visualize possibilities that would not otherwise be recognized in a situation.

    Nobody said career advancement was going to be easy, did they? So how can you best navigate the crowded superhighway of career advancement. One great way to become a better manager is to find out what everyone else in your job position hates to do, get acclimated to the task, and become very good at it.
