It seems that no workplace is completely immune to the ill effects of gossip.  Our situation this time is no different.  Christine has not ever gotten along with her boss, and feels confident that she is smarter and more competent than him.  When given the chance to work off-site at an industry conference, she was excited to get the ear of her boss's immediate superior.

Jackie, a highly successful bank manager in Minneapolis has been having trouble at her job ever since the bank was bought out by its competitor.  She was shocked by the take over, and felt betrayed that she hadn't been let in on the plans before they were announced to all of the employees...

Cutting staff was difficult for you. As a department manager it is never easy to let people go, especially in a difficult job market. However that difficulty was doubled when you were forced to make several cuts in a department that was already stretched close to its limits. The edict handed down to you was to create more efficiencies, automate processes where you could, and pay small amounts of overtime or outsource when needed.

Your company is thriving, even in the difficult economy. You have opened several new locations in order to keep your production in line with demand. The level of technical skill you require of your workers is high, as the product you manufacture is specialized. While you were in your initial growth stages it was always easy to spot and recruit the right talent. However now that you are in a state of quick growth it seems as though the once-easily spotted talent is getting harder to find.

Your business has slowed as the economy has gone into a stall. You feel that nearly everyone has given you 100% of their effort, however it hasn’t been enough and cuts are going to have to be made...
